Hannah Martinez / Fillies – Hannah had a great weekend hitting off the coach at every at bat. She played centerfield accounted for an unassisted out by fielding the ball and tagging second base! She also played catcher for a couple of innings.  Hannah is always looking to improve her play by listening to the coach’s suggestions. She is a team player and always cheering. Great job Hanna


Ashlan Campos / Bulldogs – Ashlan has been consistently getting better at every at bat. She battles every time fouling off balls. In our last two games, she has recorded a hit, and scored an RBI. Ashlan plays the OF, 2nd, and 3rd base. Great Job Ash!!


Rachel Walls / Sirens – Racheal has been a huge asset to the team on both sides of the diamond. She is always hustling and giving 100%. She gets her team pumped up and keeps a positive attitude all the time. 

On defensive, she was rock solid to help her team win.  Great Job, Racheal!

12U B Division

McKenna Oestreich / Girlsox – McKenna had a stellar day at the plate, batting 1.000, including a triple, three RBIs, two runs, and two stolen bases. McKenna is a joy to coach – she’s a hustler, is coachable, and a leader with an incredible work ethic. Great job, McKenna! 

12U C Division

Lilya Santini / 9th Island Bandits – Lilya is a hard working player that has been showing great improvement in her skill and most of all, her confidence in her first season of softball, ever. She has pushed herself and let herself be pushed by her coaches to become (and feel) like a softball player. She loves softball and we love watching her progress as a player and teammate. Go Bandits!!


Ava Weyant / Cyclones – Ava had an AMAZING weekend. She went 3 for 3 at the plate with a stand up triple which was a huge reason her team took home the win. Defensively, she played 2nd base and made four outs, one of which was an inning ending double play which killed a serious rally. Great job Ava!!


Emma Strummilo / Thunderbirds – Emma pitched a one hit shutout. In 5 innings pitched, Emma faced 18 batters and threw thirteen first pitch strikes. She threw forty pitches with twenty-nine of them being strikes and no walks great game Emma!

Player of the Week nominations are submitted by the head coach to their division representative. NWGS then selects a Player of the Week for each division.
