(Prior NWGS Player of Week Winners)

Claire Matson / Twilight – Claire consistently listens to her coaches and always does her best. She hustles around the bases and continues improving week after week. Keep up the great work Claire!

Londyn Hansen / Mayhem – Londyn is in her first season of playing softball and she has blossomed into such a wonderful player. Londyn is always positive and is willing to try any position that is asked of her. She truly is a great utility player. Londyn hit a fantastic double that helped our team get the victory! Way to go Londyn!

Penelope Spann / Decepticons – Penelope is enjoying her very first season of softball and this awesome kid has really shown she has found her sport. She always comes to practice and games with an amazing attitude and ready to learn and work. Her first day of practice she could barely throw a ball and this weekend she gunned down not 1 but 2 girls at second base from deep left field!! She also hustled and showed off her speed to hold what could have been several extra-base hits to stay as singles. Awesome work Penelope Keep it up!

12U B Division

Maia Sierra / HoneyBadger – Maia got multiple hits and R.B.I.’s. She has been tearing up the base paths stealing second and third every time she got on base. Mia did an outstanding job playing center field for her team this weekend making 2 great catches in the outfield. Way to go Maia having an outstanding week!

12U C Division

Annabelle Chapman / 9th Island Bandits – Annabelle has gone from, not ever playing softball before, to an elite and crucial part of our team. Defensively she has claimed the first base position as her own. Offensively, she has grown (and is still growing) to be aggressive at the plate. She has had hits in the three games this past week and she uses her speed to raise her total of stolen bases. She is an amazing softball player and a coachable kid. She has found a love for the sport she quickly progresses at. Great job AB! Go Bandits!

Maddie Traber / DemoDogs – Maddie’s hard work has vastly improved her defense and her position knowledge making her our top infielder, and a fixture at shortstop. She has had five straight games with two-plus hits, making it impossible to keep her out of the top of the lineup. Maddie has become one of the most reliable players, performers, and she is a joy to coach. Great Job Maddie!

Samantha Orta / Thunderbirds – Sammie was smashing it this week at the plate with four hits including two doubles. On defense in thirteen opportunities, she had six assists five putouts and including three double plays. In one particular play, she threw out a base runner at second and then completed a rundown between home and third to complete a double play. Great heads up play Sammie!
