Player of the Week – Spring Week 5
6U
Tenley Junghans – Starfire
Tenley hit the ball hard at each of her at bats this week. She also hustled on the field and on the bases. Keep up the good work Tenley!
8U
Olivia Monteleone – Royal Lady Aviators
This is Olivia’s first season playing and she has gone out there every game improving at the position of catcher. Olive, as we affectionately call her, shows a lot of heart for the game and has shown a lot of improvement.
10B
Maile Ernestberg – Decepticons
Maile’s hard work and dedication to the game of softball has been an inspiration to the entire team. This week she has hit three out of five times at the plate. With a huge smash double to end the inning in Saturday’s game. Stepping out of her comfort zone and playing a new position (first base) when needed. She continues to have a positive mindset, encourages her teammates, and is a joy to have in the dug out! Shine on Maile!
10C
Lexie Soto – Riptide
This is Lexie’s first year at NWGS, and she has been tremendous for us at the plate. This week she hit lead off in all three games and went 4-6 with 2 walks, and 1 RBI. Lexie is a versatile player and can play middle infield and everywhere in the outfield.
12B
Jaiden Sabino – Lady Panthers
Jaiden continues to be a powerful asset at third base and for our offense. She has been hitting every game forcing RBIs. Thursday we were down two runs and her triple, over centerfield’s head, tied the game up for us. Saturday she had a great tag out at third and two great catches making her our player of the week! Good Job Jaiden, keep it up kiddo!
12C
Raelynn Villanueva – Sin City Saints
This week in 4 games, Raelynn reached base 11 for 11 times, scoring 8 runs. Of these at bats Raelynn had 1 home run, 3 triples, and several base hits. As pitcher, in one game, Raelynn recorded 7 strike outs with only 9 outs pitched and had 21 strikeouts over 36 outs for the week. Besides Raelynn’s athletic abilities, her positivity, humble attitude, and coachability make her a great leader on and off the field.

Hanako Valdez – LV Cyclones
Hanako had an amazing week. She went 8 for 8 with 4 RBIs, one of which being the game winning run giving us a record of 9-1-1. She focused on having a great attitude and keeping her team motivated. Great job Hanako!
16U-18U
Samantha Orta – Thunderbirds
Sammie had a great week! Bases clearing double on Wednesday, bases clearing triple in our next game and game winning RBI in the third game. Overall she was 5-6 with 6 RBI and 3 runs scored. Behind the plate she picked a would-be base stealer off at third and laid out to catch pop up foul for an out! Great hustle Sammie!
