Player of the Week – Week 2

6U

Emsley Contreras – Bulldogs

Emsley has played pitcher, catcher, 1st base, 3rd base, SS, and 2nd base. She has done it all,  in two games has it off coach pitch in all of her 6 at bats. Great Job Ems!!!

8U

Kylee Husson – Fillies

Kylee had a great week for the Fillies and contributed to a big win on Saturday! Kylee pitched 2 innings, striking out 5 and did not allow a single run to cross the plate. She also got on base and scored a run. Great job Kylee!

10U

Audrina Garcia – Power

Coming off an injury that caused her to miss the first game of the season, Audrina came back with a vengeance! In the second game of the day her bat came alive. She went 2 for 2 with a single and a DEEP LONG shot to dead center field for a triple! That hit got her team a 4 run rule for the inning and ultimately a W!

12B

Jersie McDonald – HoneyBadgers

Jersey had a great day for the HoneyBadgers on Saturday. In our second game of the day, Jersie had it all working in the circle, firing a no-hitter! Jersie pitched 4 innings, striking out 12 batters and only walking 2. At the plate, Jersie went 1 for 3 with a walk and scored a run. Way to go Jersie!

12C

Alexis Alplanalp – Base Invaders

Alexis had a great outing on Saturday. She went 4 for 6 at the plate with 3 runs scored and 5 SB. She also pitched 3 innings for us. Alexis does what she asked without any complaints and helps keep the whole team in the game. Great Job Alexis!

14U

Gwen Kirby – LV Force

Gwen is an absolutely amazing athlete. She went 3 for 3, 1 BB, 1 double, 3 stolen bases and 4 runs scored. On base every time. Scored every time. On defense, she had an amazing double play. She also had the first out of game, taking away the other team’s lead off triple, catching the player rounding 3rd.  Huge out for us and a huge boost for us to win both games.

16/18U

Serina Mckinnon – Firebirds

It was a good weekend for Serina at the plate, going 3 for 3 with a few doubles. At her first at-bat, she hit her first home run over the left field fence with a runner on,  cutting the opponents lead in half. On defense, Serina made a few key plays to keep our team in the game, including an incredible catch off her shoelaces despite her “above average” height. Amazing Job Serina!

Player of the Week nominations are submitted by the head coach to their division representative. NWGS then selects a Player of the Week for each division.
